Day One

Challenge Number 1 - How to fit 9 days worth of clothing for two people into the trunk of a corvette. Well, one thing's for sure....we won't be able to put the top down until we reach Bowling Green and get the suitcases out of the way.
We're finally underway. After a small delay in getting started we left from Cracker Barrel in Mount Laurel with about 25 cars. The best part of the trip today was seeing our family members Sue & Ron and Bruce & Janet standing on an overpass shortly after we entered PA with an American flag waving to all of us as we passed by. I wish we could have taken their picture. It was awesome!

Corvettes at Carlisle was an interesting experience. Having never been before we had heard stories of how hot it is there; but today was very pleasant with a nice breeze. Every year and color of corvette could be found there. The most impressive thing was the companies that were installing new exhaust systems into cars "while you wait". It took about 30 minutes for them to drop out your old exhaust and put in the new one. There was a pile of old and not so old exhausts stacked up. One dealer said he had installed about 80 this weekend. (at about $1,300 a pop) We drove 337 miles since leaving home this morning. And, had a great dinner at Pagano's in New Stanton. If you ever pass this way you might want to give it a try.
